Dr. Bradyは、Johns HopkinsでのBossであったDr. Hogueと共に、今のResearchのFoundationを築いた人で、3年前にJohns Hopkins HospitalからTexas Children Hospitalに移り、現在はClinical & Animal Lab Researchを精力的に行っています。
今回はResearch Stuffとその家族が30人程集まり、素晴らしいPool付きの豪邸でBBQ Partyを楽しみました。
Medical StudentやDoctor、そしてその家族と色々な話ができて、とても楽しい時間でした。
そのなかに、以前Johns Hopkins Cardiac SurgeryのLabで会ったことがあるMedical Studentがいました。
”久しぶりMasa！何してるの？”
"7月からTHIでCardiovascular Surgical Fellowしてるんだ"
"そうなんだ。僕のおじいちゃんが、昔THIでSurgeonだったんだ”
”、、、。君のLast Nameなんだっけ？”
聞いてビックリ！
彼のおじいちゃんとは、THI:Texas Heart Instituteの創設者であり、その名を知らない心臓外科医はいない、Dr. Denton Cooleyだったのです！！
いつまで経っても、外国人の名前を覚えるのが苦手なMasaでした、、、。

I was invited to Dr. Brady's Lab home party this weekend. Dr. Brady is a colleague of Dr. Hogue, who is my research mentor in Johns Hopkins, and he established a foundation for our research with Dr. Hogue. He moved from Johns Hopkins to Texas Children Hospital 3 years ago, and I've seen him several times before.
Many research colleagues, including medical students and doctors, were invited and they took their family as well. I really enjoyed the party with them, and I met a medical student, who worked at Johns Hopkins for summer student program a couple years ago.
"Hey, Masa! What are you doing??"
"I'm doing Cardiovascular Surgical Fellow at THI starting this month."
"My grandfather used to work at THI as a surgeon."
",,,. What is your last name??"
OMG! His grandfather is Dr. Denton Cooley, who is the founder of THI and considered to be the most famous cardiac surgeon in the whole world!
I'm still not good at remembering foreigner's names,,,.
